In Mr. Masson’s media class, we decided to start an ad campaign about high school stereotypes. I thought it would be a hard task for a whole class to accomplish but we have come a long way. We have had to make many decisions as a class and have gotten a lot of work done. Once the class finishes the project I think it will be great and people will actually look and think about the posters we will put up in the school. The hardest part of this project has probably been organizing all the photo shoots and all agreeing as a class. The idea for this project started with our Socratic seminar. We discussed issues from gun control to teenage angst and ended up settling on the media and its negative effects on American teenagers. I think it is important for teenagers to be aware of this issue and I think this project will help to make our peers more aware of how easily we judge people. The commercials we are about to start will definitely make a big impact and I am excited to see how they come out. I have really enjoyed this project because everyone in the class is able to be involved and we are working together very well and have accomplished so much.
